The Ultimate List of Pregnancy Journal Prompts for Bluffton Moms

Alright, imagine this: 25 years from now, you stumble upon an old journal tucked away in the back of your closet. You flip it open, and suddenly you’re hit with a flood of memories. You’re reading about your deepest thoughts, fears, and dreams from when you were pregnant. Maybe you shed a tear for that version of you who had no idea how much joy was coming her way with the little one about to arrive.

I promise you’ll be thanking your past self for taking the time to write down those little moments, even when life was busy with doctor’s appointments, nursery prep, and everything in between.

Looking back through my daughters baby book and seeing the notes that I included in there during my pregnancy really takes me back to that period in time and I will forever be grateful I took the time to write them!

Journaling is like having a conversation with your future self. It’s a grounding practice that can help you reflect, connect, and find peace in the chaos of pregnancy. Plus, it’s a sweet way to bond with your baby before they even arrive!

7 Tips to Make Journaling a Habit & a Priority

  1. Pick a Special Journal
Choose one that makes you smile whenever you see it. Whether it’s because of its beautiful cover or it just feels perfect in your hands, pick one that inspires you to write.
  2. Set a Routine
Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, find a time that works for you to write and stick to it. Mornings or right before bed are often great options!
  3. Keep It Accessible
If your journal is tucked away on a shelf, you’re probably going to forget about it. Keep it in a place you’ll see often, like next to your bed or on the kitchen counter.
  4. Mix It Up
Who says journaling has to be all words? Doodle, paste in photos, or jot down quotes that inspire you. Whatever feels right!
  5. No Pressure
This journal is for you, so don’t stress about grammar or trying to sound perfect. If you skip a day, no worries—just pick it up again when you can!
  6. Reflect & Respond
Use prompts to spark ideas and get your thoughts flowing (I’ve got some fun ones below!). You can jot down anything that comes to mind.
  7. Set Goals
Try filling a page a day or writing for a set amount of time. But remember, be flexible. This is your journey—go at your own pace!
