Why Watching These Documentaries Can Be a Game-Changer for TTC Moms | Savannah Newborn Photographer

Trying to get pregnant is full of ups and downs, and sometimes you just need a little extra inspiration, hope, and even some education to get you through it.

When you’re TTC, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, but watching documentaries can be a great way to both relax and learn more about what your body is going through.

I’ve curated a list of documentaries that not only educate but also give a boost of hope when you need it most!

The Business of Being Born

What it’s about: This documentary explores the maternity care system in the U.S. and presents different birthing options, including home births and midwifery.

Where to watch: Available on Amazon Prime and YouTube.

This very popular documentary by Ricki Lake is not specifically about trying to get pregnant {and I also mentioned it here [link to your other blog post from month 013 in The Content Club]) but it shared a lot of information you’ll be happy you know once you get pregnant!

Personally, I find it to be a very enlightening documentary on what exactly home birth can look like! If it’s an option you have considered, I highly recommend taking a look at it.

The Great Sperm Race

What it’s about: A fascinating documentary that follows the sperm’s journey to fertilize an egg, showing the biological complexity of conception.

Where to watch: Available on YouTube

The Science of Babies

What it’s about: This National Geographic documentary explains the miracle of conception, pregnancy, and the development of a baby inside the womb.

Where to watch: Available on National Geographic and YouTube.

Also for purchase on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Science-Babies/dp/B004FN26J6

Vegas Baby

What it’s about: Follows people entering a contest to win a free round of IVF, showing the emotional and financial struggles behind fertility treatments.

Where to watch: Available on Amazon Prime and Apple TV.

One More Shot

What it’s about: A heartfelt look at a couple’s emotional journey through infertility, IVF, and the pursuit of parenthood.

Where to watch: Available on Amazon Prime.

The Beginning of Life

What it’s about: Explores the crucial development stages during the early years of a child’s life and how the environment impacts their well-being.

Where to watch: Available on AppleTV or Amazon Prime
