Capturing the Joy of Tradition: Cozy Holiday Mini Session with Jessi, Curtis, and Maddie | Beaufort Christmas Mini Sessions

The holidays are always a magical time at Nadia Hurtt Photography, and one of the best parts of my job is seeing familiar faces return each year, capturing each milestone as families grow and change. Jessi, Curtis, and their daughter Maddie are one such family I’ve had the honor of photographing for the past three years. I first met them when Maddie was just a baby, and it’s incredible to see how much she’s blossomed over the years.

This year’s Cozy Holiday Mini Session felt extra special. In past years, Maddie has sometimes been a bit shy – last year, it took her a few minutes to warm up. But this time, she arrived full of energy, excitement, and ready to jump in front of the camera with confidence. Watching her beam and embrace the experience, I couldn’t help but think of how much I love seeing these little ones grow up, coming back each year a little taller and a lot more self-assured.

One of the best parts of this session was how beautifully Jessi coordinated their outfits. She created such a cozy, harmonious look that fit the holiday spirit perfectly, blending warm tones and textures to complement the Cozy Holidays set. The setup featured soft-lit trees and vintage toys, inviting Maddie to explore and interact, which brought out the purest smiles and laughter. It’s a setup tradition I always love – it makes for beautiful photos and keeps little ones engaged and playful throughout the session.

This session was another reminder of how special it is to capture these moments for families year after year, creating a holiday tradition that I’m honored to be a part of. Seeing Maddie grow and seeing the love Jessi and Curtis have for her in every photo – it’s the kind of experience that brings warmth to the holiday season.
